Episode 16 – Where We Are Full Of Fail

In this episode, Leslie pretty much calls everything by the wrong name (knitpicks instead of signature, cast on instead of spin, needle instead of flyer, etc) and neither of us have any real knitting progress to show you. Some weeks are like that, I guess. 🙂

Shownotes coming soon!

Laura’s WIPs:

Norwegian Rose socks out of Dream in Color Smooshy (you didn’t see them because they are the same).

LogCabin Blanket by the lovely ladies at Mason Dixon.  My blanket is out of Cotton Classic.

Vertizags by Megan Wright (LaughLovenKnit on Ravelry) out of Koigu (KPPPM).

We talk about Knitpicks needles versus Signatures.  Laura wants to try out Blacktorn DPNs

Leslie’s WIPs:
Random Baby Hat to knit on during the podcast
Knit, Purl, & RIP-it Socks by Deby Lake out of Wollmeise “Sabrina” and Claudia’s Handpainted“Mint.”  Leslie got more yarn!
Secret Test Knitting
FOs
Laura finished her Nine to Five Socks but they have already been sent to Becky (out of sight, out of mind) and Leslie finished nothing.
Leslie’s Spinning:
CJ Kopec and has divided it by color.
Bonkers 50/50 Merino Tencel Blend
We compare our high speed bobbins and what’s in our spinning bags.
Laura’s Spinning:
Abstract Fiber roving in the Twilight colorway in a 50/50 Merino Tencel blend
Twisted Fiber Arts in the Unconditional colorway in the superwash BFL blend.
Knittyspin has an article about Navajo plying
I’m also spinning the first half of the giggle jelly silk/merino batts.  I struggle with spinning batts.  Batts and rolags are woolen prep and to get a true woolen, you spin long draw (that’s what the awesome book, SpinControl by Amy King says).
Favorite Things:
New ad on Ravlery
We’re going to visit Stacy of Tempted Yarns and hang out with a bunch of our friends.
Laura is being dragged to Arkansas to keep Leslie sane.
Love the Vesper sock club June shipment!
Lynn is still working on making some wishes come true (this race she’s doing is like the Amazing Race and I so just want to watch it).
WordPress is still hating on my spacing, or it just thinks that my WIPs are much more important than Leslie’s. Sorry about that.

About Leslie

Leslie is obsessed with knitting, and when possible, perfection in her knitting. All stripey socks must match exactly and all lace must be blocked severely. She has major love for all of her viewers/readers and hopes to keep blogging and podcasting for years to come.
