Episode 287 – A Myriad, a Plethora, and Other Jocular Terms

Leslie is knitting a pair of socks from a Gale’s Art extreme sock blank.

Laura  is knitting  Love of Spiders by Melanie Berg.  She has also started a pair of toe up socks on size 0s (60 stitches) using Desert Vista Dyeworks in the Harold’s Purple Crayon colorway.  She has also started a log cabin baby (Creativebug class) sweater using size 6 needles and handspun sw merino in the “puppy dog tails” colorway.  She also had several fails this week with both already finished garments and knitting.

Leslie finished knitting a Mitered Crosses square for her handspun blanket and a pair of double gusset socks in CrazyDog Yarns Step All Over Me colorway. She also finished  a cross stitch for a friend in Lake Tahoe.

Laura has been spinning some Wool Pierogi rolags for Eloise. She is also spinning ITW in the Il Tramento in the Falkland base.  She has plied the singles of Hello Yarn Corriedale (236 yards).

Book Review: Henry’s Hat by Eric and Joanna Johnson

Question from -kimbuktu- I really enjoy knitting the fish lips kiss heel, but find it pops off my heel when wearing the finished socks. My husband thinks that means it should be deeper, which I think translates into adding more stitches to my socks. The rest of the sock fits fine with the number of stitches I am using.

What do you think? I am a relatively new sock knitter, and would love some input.

I can go back to using a standard heel flap, but just wondered if there is a simple fix for this.

Leslie is listening to Six of Crows, and is reading Clean Sweep, Sweep in Peace (Ilona Andrews), and Illuminae by Amie Kaufman (author of a favorite series These Broken Stars)

Laura is listening to the third Charley Davidson series.  She has read Clockwork Scarab by Colleen Gleason, Forgotten Bones: Uncovering a Slave Cemetery by Lois Miner Henry, and Shelter by Harlan Coben.
