Episode 310 – State of Flux

Leslie is working on Vanilla is the New Black (sport/dk) in Nomadic Yarns Dobby Is a Free Elf Colorway.

 

Laura is knitting on Flax Light by Tin Can Knits.  She is using Marigold Jen Yarns in the October colorway.  This is being knit on size 2 and 4 needles.   She is also knitting on a pair of Fish Lips Kiss Heel socks out of Nomadic Yarns in the McGonagall colorway.

 

Laura has finished Rocketeer by Woolly Wormhead.  It is out of the Bambeanies book.  She is knitting it on size 9 needles out of Lorna’s Laces Cloudgate in the Mantis Shrimp colorway (A Good Yarn exclusive).  She also has finished a Tubey also by Woolly Wormhead.  This was knit out of handspun dyed by Southern Cross Fibre in the Puppy Dogs Tails colorway.  It was knit on size 7 needles.

 

Laura has been spinning on some KnitSpin Farm batts and next up is some SCF in the Get Happy colorway (Bond/Suri)

 

Leslie has spun a braid of Polwarth/silk from Three Waters Farm in the Antique Portrait colorway on the new Schacht Flatiron.  She got 326yds of a 3ply sport weight.

 

Question from Scrapfaire, “That LOVELY barberpoled yarn… what kinds of things showcase it? I have some that I purchased last fall that I’d like to knit up… but I don’t know what to knit with it.”

 

Leslie is listening to the Kage series by Maris Black and the Hidden Relic from the Evermen series.  She read and loved/cried The Music of the Spheres by Chase Potter and The Magpie Lord by KJ Charles.

 

Laura is currently reading Nice Dragons Finish Last by Rachel Aaron.
