I’m not going to lie, I had mixed feelings about going to Atlanta this weekend. \u00a0My work week had been crazy horrid, and I really wasn’t feeling like leaving town for the weekend. \u00a0I am so glad that Leslie conned me into<\/span> convinced me to go. \u00a0The real highlight of the trip for me was getting to hang out with Allen of Numma Numma yarns<\/a>. \u00a0Allen is a very special person. She is kind and generous and warm. \u00a0She is always thinking of others and is a true artist with her yarns. You’ll get to “meet” her in one of the videocasts after Leslie cuts it into segments.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

We met Allen at her house, got a grand tour of her house and studio (love it!), fondled some yarn, recorded the videocast, went out to a delicious lunch, and then went yarn shopping. \u00a0We went to Knitch.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

They had a gorgeous store that I wish I could show y’all but when I asked if I could take pictures, they told me that they do not allow photos of the interior of the shop. \u00a0So you’ll have to imagine the yarny goodness based on a photo of Kobe and Leslie standing outside.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

We sadly departed paths from Allen to hang out with Leslie’s brother at the aquarium<\/a>. \u00a0I could spend a weekend here (and they offer adult singles sleepovers<\/a>).<\/p>\n

They have beluga whales:<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

That made me think of Raffi’s Baby Beluga song.<\/a><\/p>\n

They also have whale sharks:<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

And pools where you can touch stingrays:<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

I want to go back when it’s not so crowded. \u00a0Maybe we can have a knitting sleepover there?<\/p>\n

After dinner, we went to Ikea.<\/a> I love Ikea and Leslie had never been before. \u00a0Kobe took a picture of us enjoying the furniture.<\/p>\n

And if I had room in the car, I would have totally gotten these cabinets to store yarn in.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

I really want the green version (there were people standing in front of it when I was trying to get a picture). \u00a0I may see if I can make room for them when we go to PGH in a few weeks. \u00a0I did get a cool new drying rack that you’ll see pictures of the next time I dye yarn \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

After a very full day, we went back to the hotel room. Some of us were a little tired:<\/p>\n

Today, we drove home to Mississippi and arrived around 3pm safe and sound. \u00a0It was a great trip and I’m so glad we got to go. \u00a0We’ve already planned a return visit later in the summer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
