{"id":88,"date":"2008-09-05T12:14:29","date_gmt":"2008-09-05T17:14:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/theknitgirllls.com\/?p=88"},"modified":"2008-09-05T12:14:29","modified_gmt":"2008-09-05T17:14:29","slug":"gussets-are-evil","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/theknitgirllls.com\/index.php\/2008\/09\/gussets-are-evil\/","title":{"rendered":"Gussets are evil."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Really, they are.\u00a0 I love knitting socks, but when it comes time for the gusset decreases, I can&#8217;t help but groan.\u00a0 On my current project, Digitessa, the gusset construction was unusual for two reasons.\u00a0 First, it&#8217;s a toe up sock.\u00a0 Second, the gusset had it&#8217;s own pattern construction (i.e., not just stockingette).\u00a0 I figured I&#8217;d sail right through these, and I did, until the heel flap.\u00a0 I had to take the socks off the magic loop needle and onto DPN&#8217;s for the heel flap (already that puts me in a bad mood) and subsequently had to rip out the heel twice to get it right.\u00a0 Now the heels are done and they&#8217;re back on the one needle.\u00a0 Phew!<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s nearly impossible to photograph these because of the richness of the colorway without natural sunlight, and since that&#8217;s been nonexistent this week, here are the best pictures I can give you:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3002\/2830132841_bdaaab2ef2.jpg?v=0\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3016\/2830967034_7212c658fc.jpg?v=0\" alt=\"\" width=\"333\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>So that&#8217;s been my past week&#8217;s worth of knitting.\u00a0 Seems like I should have more done, right?
