Laura has knit on 3 projects this week. The first is a design for Tangerine Design’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory kit. It is knit using size 0 needles and Knitter’s Knitmare yarn. The second is a pair of Rose City Rollers for SSK. They are knit on Nova Platina DPNs in size 0 and are out of Knitterly Things Vesper yarn in the Rainbow Love colorway. The third thing she cast on is Stripe Study. She is knitting this on size 6 needles using Alisha Goes Around and a Neon paintbox kit from Fiberoptic.
Leslie and Laura have finished nada
Laura has plyed Death from Into the Whirled (Megasal colorway). This is superwash merino and she got 700 yards of a 3-ply lace weight. TDF has started! Laura has spun Southern Cross Fibe in the Rhinebeck colorway (yet to be plied) She is also spinning some KnitSpinFarm odds and ends on her akerworks spindle.
Leslie is still carding the Coopworth from MDSW. She also spun 4oz of Dark Sweet Cherries and 4oz of Scottish Landscape (both from Three Waters Farm) and plied them together for 964yds of a fingering weight.
Question from betternpopcorn, “I am not a spinner or sock knitter. I keep hearing spinners talking about spinners knitting various fibers for socks which don’t contain nylon. Etc. The sock knitters talk about using a nylon blend for strength. Why don’t spinners add a ply of nylon or something similar. You two always keep my interest Thanks for the time and thought you put into the podcast and the crafting
Deborah”
