Hi Leslie: As a fairly newish quilter, I feel your pain about marking for half-square triangles. I have found that if I’m doing a bunch of triangles of the same colors, that the strip method worked really well. (I was making 2-1/2 inch squares and got 16 or 17 out of a width of fabric strip.) Here’s a link that explains it, but there a million more on YouTube: https://quiltingdigest.com/make-no-waste-half-square-triangles-from-strips/ I used a “Clearly Perfect Slotted Trimmer” to cut the triangles when I recently did a quilt that required several hundred HSTs, but it’s not necessary to have a specialty ruler. Also, although I’ve not tried them, I understand that you can print or buy sheets or rolls of paper with the markings on them for sewing multiple HSTs at a time. I think you pin it to your fabric, sew and cut on the appropriate lines, and then remove the paper. Thanks for sharing your craft project adventures!
