Ep686 – The Penguins Are Not A Nation

Leslie has worked on an EPP (English Paper Piecing) project from a VioletCraft rooster kit. She cast on the Lace & Fade Boxy by Joji Locatelli out of a Miss Babs gradient kit in Beachcomber and Republica Unicornia Suri Alpaca in Unicorn Birthday Party. She worked on the Farmhouse Cardigan by Amy Christoffers out of Why Knot Yarns Scholar base in Red Spire

  Laura is working on the Layla cardigan out of MDK atlas and Into the Whirled handspun.  She is knitting on the Traveler Cowl by Andrea Mowry out of Hipstrings Base 12 on size 3 needles.  Laura has also cast on a grid gambit out of Madelinetosh DK in a ooak colorway and a gradient handspun from Inglenook on size 6 needles.  She ahs cast on a new pair of socks out of Geektastic/Fandom Fibers  in the Trapper Keepers and Pencil Boxes colorway.  These are being knit on size 0 needles.

Leslie finished the Mount Pleasant tee by Pip & Pin out of Republica Unicornia BFL in the Ramble On colorway.

Laura is currently spinning some Hello Yarn patchwork kit to combine with cvm. She has finally plied and wound off: 

An Inglenook Blend ( 250 yards of a 2-ply)

The Knit Spin Farm Advent (650 yards of a 2-ply from 6oz)

An unknown fiber 3-ply (spun on the Martin at the parents while Jude was visiting and no idea-300 yards)

Leslie started spinning some Oink Pigments Polwarth/silk in the Does A Bear Knit In The Woods colorway.

Leslie has been reading Happy Fat by Sofie Hagen.

Laura reading Of All Tribes by Joseph Bruchac (middle grade nonfiction) and Serviceberry by Robin Wall Kimmerer (adult nonfiction).  She is also listening to an adult fantasy short story collection, Heroic Hearts.
