Episode 17 – Post Tempted Estates

We had such an amazing weekend that we gabbed on for nearly an hour about it! I hope you enjoy!

Shownotes by LaLa

It’s episode 17!  I was shocked to realize that we’ve been doing this for over 3 months now.

Also, we had way too much fun at Tempted Estates.  Thank you again Bob, Stacy, and Emily for having us.

Laura WIPs:

New pair of toe up socks with gusset heel out of Ashabee Fiber Oasis in her bamboo/merino/nylon base.  The colorway name is Eclipse and I bought it in 2007 as one of my first etsy purchases.  I also got lots of cool stuff from Fearless Fibers and Dyeabolical Yarns back then (I really need to knit that stuff up and buy more of their wonderful yarns).

Log Cabin out of Cotton Classic (it’s even boring me at this point).

Soon on the needles will be the Featherweight Cardi (it’s a race Jessica!)

Leslie’s WIP’s

1×1 rib scarf out of hanspun Yarn Love  Marianne Roving in the Maiden colorway

Leslie’s FOs:

Secret knitting is done!

Knit, Purl, & RIP-it Socks by Deby Lake out of Wollmeise “Sabrina” and Claudia’s Handpainted“Mint.”

Laura’s FOs:

Vertizag Socks (they are at home being blocked!)

Noro Socks (plain from the top down with Eye of the Partridge heel)

Laura is currently into a Steampunk as a genre and likes Soulless.  I’m also interested in this when it comes out.

Laura is spinning:

Twisted Fiber Arts in the Unconditional colorway in the superwash BFL blend.  I love Wooly Wormhead hats for handspun. 166 yards worsted in the end result.
Giggle Jelly in the Drops of Jupiter colorway. 300ish yards  It may become a 198 yards of Heaven shawl.  I’m open to ideas, if someone has a better idea.
I’m spinning some Poppy Fiber Flowers in Fruit Stripe that mom got me for Christmas.
Next up is Twisted Fiber Arts in the Netherfield Lively.
Leslie is spinning:
CJ Kopec and has divided it by color. Around 100 yards.
Bonkers 50/50 Merino Tencel Blend.  300 yards of sport-weight yarn.
Tempted fiber in her Merino/Silk blend(TLE still has some in stock, I’m just sayin’) in the Teal We Meet.  444 yards total.
Leslie also dyed lots of roving at Tempted Estates.  It came out sooooo nice.  The bases were from the Smoky Mountain Spinnery and Hello Yarn.
Favorite Things:
Hanging out with all the peeps at Tempted Estates.  Along the way we visited with Elabeth and lots of other cool people at Stringtown.  We got some Nashua sock yarn, puppy snips, and Regia Handyed Effect.
LaLa won a prize from the Socks from the Toe-up Knitalong from Tuscan Grove. It’s very pretty and destined to become a Multanomah.
We review the new Knitscene Magazine from Interweave Knits.
MeganMME from plurk and Lynn sent Leslie some Hello Yarn Fiber (Lynn sent me some too). Thanks gals!
We saw Charlaine Harris at the Hernando Library.  She was an excellent speaker and very funny.  Leslie has massive calves.  Strangers tell her so…
Eloise gave me an awesome orange bag.  She is Dingledaisy on Ravelry.  I remembered it as soon as we stopped recording.  Really, I did.
We’re going to Arkansas on Wednesay for a somewhat relaxing weekend.
Also, the Arkaksas Fiber Arts Extravaganza is in December.  Y’all should go, all the cool people are doing it.  You can find info on the event here and the lodge here.
Thanks for watching y’all!

About Leslie

Leslie is obsessed with knitting, and when possible, perfection in her knitting. All stripey socks must match exactly and all lace must be blocked severely. She has major love for all of her viewers/readers and hopes to keep blogging and podcasting for years to come.
