Over the past few days, I’ve been knitting some Monster Chunks for my 8th grade library workers. This year I have four. Four of the best teenagers that you’ll ever met. We’ve spent the year shelving books, helping each other with complex vs. compound sentence structure ( I did most of the help), and lots of laughter. I have good kids. So good, that two of them are exempt from exams next week and today was our last day together. So I gave them their monster chunks and gift cards to Starbucks. Then they surprised me. They had plotted together and crocheted me a scarf. It’s so acrylic that it squeaks, but all I can feel when I wear it is the love that went into each stitch. These kids are going to rock the world and damn if I don’t miss them already.
Aww! That is so sweet! Middle schoolers get such a bad rap sometimes (and sometimes they deserve it, LOL!), but then they go and do sweet things like that and it just makes you melt. 🙂
Wow, that is sweet of them! We need scarf pictures!!
Love the chunks by the way 😉
cute! very sweet – i also demand scarf pictures.
That is the sweetest story ever.
Love the show! My son is graduating tomorrow night from 8th grade! Such a nice age cause they think they are grown!
We need a picture of the scarf that was crocheted for you!! How sweet. Did they each do a part? They learned to crochet just for you???
