Laura and Leslie welcome you to another week! We review WIPs and FO’s, share some spinning, and Laura reviews “Nature’s Wrapture”.
Also – I left a little bit of the beginning ‘pre-recording’ bit in there because it was funny. 😀
Laura is knitting on a Herbivore by Stephen West. It is out of Cherry Tree Hill.  I also have on the needles are the Twisted Fiber Arts in the Ravelry colorway socks. Sleeve on the Washington Square is the same.  I cast-on a new pair of socks out of Zauberball  Starke 6 for the Wendyknits Socks from the Toe-Up KAL.
Leslie is knitting on some socks out of Twisted Limone for an afterthought heel tutorial.
Leslie is finished with the Pogona shawl out of Wollmeise in Bluebell.
Laura is finished with a Beanie version of Starving Artist. Â She has also finished knitting the Broken Hand Hat by Wendyknits. Â This was a test knit and the pattern will made available as part of an e-book.
Laura has plied the batt that sheds. Â I got around 150 yards of a sport weight, navajo plied.
Leslie has a lovely batt from Dawning Dreams. Â She has finished spinning the first third of the Hello Yarn fiber.

Another great show! Loving the added spinning content. Can’t wait to start the SAL.
Hi Knit Girllls!
Thank YOU for the mention:) I just pre-ordered the roving to participate in your spin a long! I am pretty excited about that. I am a very, very new to spinning but I have quickly fallen in love with it. I love that your podcast includes spinning right along with the knitting.
Keep up the good work! I am a big fan.
Susan
Ok, so I doubt I’m the first person to say this, but I love the fact that the knitting crown in the background is always above your head Leslie, you are the queen afterall. Hehe
Love the shawl and can’t wait to get it!! But I will be patient.
Laura, I bought some more yarn for another Starving Artist! This pattern IS like crack!!!
As always, you guys are totally awesome.
Hope to see you again soon.
Muriel
Me, too! The first thing I noticed was that crown.
Another comment about the show–how much the look has changed. When I first started watching I kept wondering, “Why don’t they wear knitted objects, and why do they always wear crewneck tee shirts and why don’t they do their hair and put on a little make up–it is a video after all.” I see you’ve started thinking a little more about the visual. I still hate the crew necks.
I think they look great. It’s two friends having fun sharing thier passion with other friends. I have personally purchased several crew necks for my beautiful bride who fills them out well and looks wonderful in them.
I found you comment Joy, to be so rude and so wrong! I know this is response is quite a few years late, but since I just stumbled upon this video cast and watching it back to back from the start, these ladies have worn knitted objects from the beginning. Also, they have worn makeup (not that any is needed), worn there hair in different styles and who cares about the types of shirts that they have on.
This will probably will never be read, but the audacity of some people!!!
I would LOVE a tutorial about spinning from a batt. What are the four ways to spin from a batt? I must know. Also, Laura, I’m almost positive that was the It’s-A-Great-Idea-To-Teach-Jessica-To-Navajo-Ply-After-Drinking-A-Margarita-As-Big-As-Our-Heads handspun.
I am such a big fan – when I see you in the LYS, I feel like I am with celebrities. Love your book reviews too – Had to buy the Baby Beanies Book from Amazon – Hope you got your reward. Would live to know more about spinning before I jump in -My husband may divoce me if I take on another craft. Right now he thinks I’m obsessive because I carry knitting around with me all the time – Have found I can ride the stationary bike and knit at the same time- great way to take one’s mind off exercise
I think that there’s a vast difference between constructive criticism and pointed derogatory comments. Hate is a strong emotion better left off of knitting podcast descriptors in my opinion.
I love that these are real knitters with real lives that are not glamor filled (despite the fortune they’re obviously making as “superstars”)
Thanks Ladies 🙂 We love you with or without the makeup!
LisA
Yes, I noticed the Crown too, Leslie. Laura, don’t cut your hair, looks good. You could bob it, keeping the length!
Really enjoy the video podcast, as I have never seen one before!

Another great show in the felted bag ladies! *bravo*
Laura, I know what ya mean regarding the hair getting too long and wanting to chop is off. May I suggest getting long layers put into it? At least this way it will feel like some of the weight is gone if you’re anything like I am with the thick hair and not fond of the feeling of it around your neck. Here I am possibly tempting to grow it out (much to the hubby’s delight) just because longer hair seems to look better with knitted head wear. *lol*
I’m so envious of you Leslie that you have braces now and not when I did in High School, maybe it wasn’t entirely accident that I threw out my retainner at lunch time and made a big scene once I realized it. *lol* I never got use to the elastic you had to wear or rather I don’t remember wearing it. Once again you’re stronger will power then I have.
Depending on your iPod’s memory obviously depends on how many podcasts you can put onto your iPod. With my 8gigs Nano iPod I couldn’t leave any music on it and I believe I fitted at least 4-5 Podcasts with 2-4 episodes with each of them. You have to manually click over to the Podcasts tab in your iTunes (with your iPod plugged in) and click to Select the Podcasts (I’m not exactly sure of the wording there but it should be close). You then Sync like normal and the bar at the bottome of iTunes should show that you’re player is filling with a mixture of audio and video.
Hopefully that helps ya out enough. If ya get stuck msg and I’ll try to help if I can.
