Episode 15 – Tour de Fleece Begins

I really can’t think of a snazzy title for this one – maybe Laura will edit it later with something funnier. 🙂

Videos below – shownotes to follow. I hope y’all enjoy!

Laura is back from Michigan!

Laura’s WIPs:

Nine to Five Socks out of Yarn Love in the Shipwreck colorway.

Norwegian Rose socks out of Dream in Color Smooshy.

LogCabin Blanket by the lovely ladies at Mason Dixon.  My blanket is out of Cotton Classic.

Vertizags by Megan Wright (LaughLovenKnit on Ravelry) out of Koigu (KPPPM).

Laura also has read two new paranormal romance, Tracking the Tempest by Nicole Peeler and Blood Song by Cat Adams.  Both were good and I’ve already pre-ordered the next in both series.
Leslie’s WIPs:
Random Baby Hat to knit on during the podcast
Swatch number 1 for the Master Knitter Program out of Cascade 220 in White (yawn)
Knit, Purl, & RIP-it Socks by Deby Lake out of Wollmeise “Sabrina” and Claudia’s Handpainted “Mint.”  Leslie ran out of yarn and is waiting on some more.
Secret Test Knitting
Check out all the stuff Leslie has on the needles.  Tehehehee….
Leslie’s FOs:
Baby set out of Malabrigo Twist.  Booties are Chaussons Mignons.  Hat is Owl Tuque.
Laura’s FOs:
Not a thing, although I am down to 30 skeins left to go on the stashdown (it will be 10 after the blanket is done).
Laura’s Spinning:
Sherbet colorway of Blue Moon Fiber Arts Sheep to Shoe kit.  First half is done and is 17 wpi and 302 yards.
Wendyknit’s Kal, Socks From the Toe-Up, is a free for all.  I will knit some handspun socks out of the BMFA.
GiggleJelly Balls are super pretty and she ships super fast!
Leslie is spinning:
CJ Kopec and has divided it by color.
Tour de Fleece is going on and y’all are rocking it out!
Favorite Things:
Leslie got an awesome swap package (I’m so jealous).  Meesh is a rockstar!
LynnZimm is having an awesome contest over on her blog.
Laura had a great trip to Fenton, MI.  I got to go to Yarn Cravin’ and it was awesome (I’ll blog more about the cool yarn shops I visited later).
We will be visiting Stacey and Bob of Tempted Yarns later in July!
You can find more out about Beck and Matt on their blog.
More information about iced tea.
Thanks for watching y’all!
ETA: I have no idea why it started doing this weird formatting thing.  Maybe Leslie can fix it later!

About Leslie

Leslie is obsessed with knitting, and when possible, perfection in her knitting. All stripey socks must match exactly and all lace must be blocked severely. She has major love for all of her viewers/readers and hopes to keep blogging and podcasting for years to come.

My calf is 14″. I might need to work out a little more….

  3. I don’t even want to attempt a calf measurement… I have enough stress right now 😉 My NR socks is packed up and ready to move so I feel a little less guilty about Laura being farther than me. Oh, and you have to specifically ask about tea here. I have ordered a glass of iced tea (thinking it’s plain) and it turns out to be some undrinkable, nasty flavored tea. You think they’d warn you. But nope, never sweetened before hand on the West Coast… unless you are at a BBQ restaurant and then it’s listed as sweet tea. Yum! Have fun visiting Stacy and Bob. I’m so jealous! Another great episode, you lovely girls!

  4. Teresa says:

I just want to tell you guys that I do a little happy dance when I see that iTunes has downloaded a KnitGirllls podcast. You can never stop doing them because I couldn’t take it. Another great episode. Thanks so much. I feel like you’re my two girlfriends who just don’t happen to live in San Francisco like I do. I’ve been making squares to send to Soweto. They sew them together to make blankets and give them to the AIDS orphans (http://www.knit-a-square.com). Anyway, I just love you guys. Keep up the good, fun work!

  5. Sarah says:

I think I live close enough to WV that a lot of places have sweet tea. I have to make sure to ask for unsweetened now, wamp wamp. My mil also always has a jug of sweet tea in her fridge. I make Ben tea but as he’s gotten older it’s gotten less sweet lol.

    Great video, ladies!

  6. Alexa says:

You just HAD to say somthing about iced tea, didn’t you? Now I want some 😛

  7. Robin says:

I love the book review with Lala. Is this something maybe that could be a done every once in a while for us Ereader fans. I read alot and its great to hear new books others are reading while they are not knitting. Love you show and I look forward to watching it every week 🙂 .
