Episode 22 – The Black Hole of Knitting

We hope you enjoy Episode 22! Shownotes after the video.

Leslie has finished…

Some toe-up sport weight socks out of Penguin Dust from the fabulous Perfect Day Yarns.  I love the way they striped and pooled and can”t wait to see how the difference makes Leslie crazy.

Leslie is knitting on…

Beverly’s Socks, they are the Wrought Iron pattern by Wendyknits out of Plucky Knitter

A baby hat (BTW the premie hat marathon collected 46 hats last week, how awesome is that?)

She will be starting…

LacyKaty in Zauberball

Laura is knitting on a plethora of black hole projects including…

featherweight cardi out of Malabrigo lace (When will it end?)

A Mystery Pi shawl out of Blackberry Ridge Lace Silk Blend in the Samarkand Blue.  I love my hide and sheep markers and would highly recommend them for lace knitting.

Toe up socks with gusset out of  Blue Ridge Footprints sock yarn in the Caribbean Cooler colorway (one is almost done!).

Harry Potter series of Opal yarn in the Tonks colorway (look, heel increases!)

Test knit mittens for SarahLou.  Pattern will be on Ravelry for $3 soon!  I’m knitting them out Phoebe by Goddess Yarns

Laura is spinning…

Abstract Fiber in Polwarth.  Shady Glade is the color of fiber.  It is destined for our friend Maggie.

Favorite things…

Rainbow yarn from LisaLisa for Leslie’s birthday.

Cute triangle piddleloop bag.

Lots of books from Mama Linneman (don’t worry, she still has lots)

Stripy Yarn!  I got a cute Cheshire Cat colorway ball and some mystery Vesper (I’m not going to lie, I thought about not telling y’all about the Twisted Limone Designs so that I could hoard all the yarny stripy goodness for myself).

Sunkist Fruit Gems are my favorite are so yummy (and they are in my belly)!

Winners!

Knitgirllls yarn by Perfect Day Yarns goes to Ann Marko!!!!!!!!  Email Leslie to claim your prize!

The potholders go to Alexa S. !!!!!!! Email Leslie to claim your prize!

We are going to visit Wendy and that makes us happy!  We will be at Fiberspace on Labor Day.

About Leslie

Leslie is obsessed with knitting, and when possible, perfection in her knitting. All stripey socks must match exactly and all lace must be blocked severely. She has major love for all of her viewers/readers and hopes to keep blogging and podcasting for years to come.

I knitted along on my PI shawl as I watched another great episode! I love those elusive Fruit Gems too, Laura. Maybe one day you’ll come to Phila to see Becky and we can meet up..I’m about 90 minutes away

  2. Marsha says:

Love watching your podcasts – thanks for giving me something to watch while my redneck husband watches Ice Road Truckers – LOL!

Love ya’lls show so much! It is “me” time. Working on a colonnade shawl while watching. I am amazed by what you guys do! Fun stuff.
I love to watch the expressions on your faces as you guys are just talking. LaLa , love , love, love the way your left eye shuts when you are concentrating! I also do that.
Have a great week! enjoy your Wendy trip.

LaLa I love you but you can’t have my socks girlfriend. Leslie I like the way the sea cell looks. The Wrought Iron socks are beautiful. Hey don’t y’all sweat not having UFOs every week. Remember we are knitters and spinners too and we know how long projects take to complete. We all know what it’s like to make “invisible” progress on a shawl or sweater. I have to put safety pins in the Cobblestone to convince myself that the 3 hours of knitting did actually produce another inch of sweater. 😉

  5. Sarah says:

First get the Sarah show out of the way- I love how both Penguin Dist socks turned out, gorgeous! Congrats to the winner of The Knitgirllls colorway, I hope she loves it!

Laura, I’m glad you ordered form Twisted Limone, she is great to deal with and has beautiful yarns, I may be slightly addicted and I haven’t knit one of my balls up yet!

Leslie, those wrought iron socks are beautiful!

I hope you guys have a great time in DC!

  6. Jessica says:

OMG! The Featherweight is a total black hole of knitting! I’m still not done with the 2nd sleeve. It is never-ending.

  7. It’s so funny that you should mention Knitpurlgurl’s shop…because I was just drooling over some yarn she recently posted that’s handpainted to stripe up in a pattern that actually resembles little ghosties! SOOOOO CUTE!
