This week we record early! We draw names for the last week of prizes in April and go through our normal segments. Laura reviews a new Stitchionary and we discuss how weather affects Leslie’s job.
Laura is working on several large projects. They include a little progress on the Shetland Pi shawl(size 5 US/3.75mm needles) by Wendy Johnson. It is out of Blackberry Ridge Silk Blend Laceweight. I’m also working on two sweaters. The second sleeve on the Washington Square out of some New Zealand stash yarn. The new sweater is a Trail Jacket out of Ecological Wool on size 10.5 (6.5 mm) needles. I also am knitting on some plain stripey socks with an afterthought heel out of Three Ewes Twisted in Fiber in the Salt Water Taffy colorway on size 1 (2.25) needles.
Leslie is knitting on Hitchhiker out of Wollmeise in the Am Kalten Polor colorway. She has 2 other projects on the needle gasp. She has abandoned and will soon rip out a baby sweater. She has started a Mossy Sweater out of Teal Feather Rios. She is using size 9 (5.5 mm) needles.
I’ve finished the Numma Numma socks (US 1/2.25mm). I also share some secret knitting. It is the Tasting Cowl out of various Classic Elite Yarns.
Laura is spinning some random fiber on her trindle. (His shop is empty right now, but he will be back soon).

Watching Laura spin on her drop spindle makes me think I’m spinning wrong. LOL My spindle seems to stop spinning and trying to go back and spin the opposite way before I can get all my fiber drafted out unless I park and draft. UGH! I’m going to spinning group next Saturday for a spinning workshop so maybe they can tell me wth I’m doing wrong lol

Aww, jeez, Leslie, I am so sorry about the work situation for you and Michael (and Michael’s brother–Laura was telling me the details). And I’m so sorry about the cancelled Estes trip. I know you were looking forward to that as a family vacation. Sometimes Mother Nature sucks. My brother and his wife live in Huntsville, Alabama. They said the tornado damage was horrific. Luckily, their house/property seems okay, but no power expected for a week, so his office is completely closed. They tossed everything out in their fridge and deep freeze and loaded up the dogs and the tortoise into a car and are staying in a hotel somewhere in Atlanta for awhile. (What kind of hotel takes dogs AND a tortoise? LOL) Anyway, I’m sorry about all this. Thinking of you guys.
Sorry to hear about the terrible weather. Glad you are both okay and I hope the work situation clears up sooner than later. The economy is bad enough without a little help from Mother Nature! Hang in there!
