Leslie is knitting some Single Malt Woolmeise 100% for the Make a Wish socks. She is using the pattern, Bavarian Cables, by Wendy Johnson. She is using size 1 needles. She has also cast on Pole out of Berroco Boboli on size 9 (5.5mm).
Laura is knitting Hitchhiker by Matina Behm on size 4 (3.5 mm) needles out of Cloudlover SAL/KAL fiber in the Haunted Vineyard Colorway. She has also cast on some socks on size 1.5 needles out of Lollipop Yarns in the Bumble Bee colorway.
Laura has finished the Gnomey Hat by Adrian Bizilia in Debbie Bliss Aran Cashmerino and ties in the Biker Chick colorway of the Dying Arts.
Laura is spinning on all three wheels. She is spinning a Loop batt on the bug. The Sidekick has finished the Pigeon Roof Studios batt in Faery (325 yards of a 2-ply). The Lendrum has finished All Spun Up Polwarth in M2075 colorway (450 yards). I have also started spinning Giggle Jelly balls in the Apollo colorway on the bug. Coggie is the host of High Fiber Diet which is an excellent podcast, sorry for getting that wrong Coggie! Leslie is spinning on some Dyeabolical BFL.

I have only completed one sweater, the February Lady, but really want to make another. I think Clementine’s Cardigan will be my next one. But I have to wait until I get a job. Unemployment and buying a sweater’s worth of yarn don’t go together!

http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/rogue Rogue is my favorite sweater right now on ravelry..im a large lady so finding stuff thats interesting but workable is interesting
Favorite sweater in my opinion the February Lady Sweater….still have to knit one!!
Great show ladies!!! 🙂
Love all the spinning!
The Calligraphy Cardigan is my favorite sweater pattern I’ve seen. It’s SO my style and I can’t wait to knit it for myself!
Leslie, are you not going to offer to knit something as a prize ever again?
It seems like these socks are your nemesis.
Molly : )
I loved every pattern you showed from the dolce book. My favorite cardigan pattern I am working on now is the peacock eye cardi. I also plan to start the calligraphy cardigan soon.
Another wonderful show! Thank you both for good mood!
Congrats on getting your braces off,Leslie!!! Yayyy for that!
My latest favorite pattern from rav is Bluebell V-Neck Cardigan by Kirsten Hipsky,it is just adorable! And I really love all patterns in this book, they just perfect.
Where did you get the yarn for the Steelers socks?? I loved it and would love to get some. I’m sorry about the loss yesterday, I am a Chiefs fan, so it’s in my blood not to like the Broncos so was upset last night as well.
Favorite cardigan pattern is Cardigan with Garter Stitch from the Knitter’s Stash: Favorite Patterns from America’s Yarn Shops. I’ve knit it twice!
Lollipop Yarn didn’t have any Bumblebee yarn on her site! I need some black & gold to make some Hawkeye socks 🙂
congrats on the braces coming off!… my current fave design is this this one http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/24-mitred-stripe-top from john brinegar..i think its the stripes that i love..im knitting it know and i hope that it comes out even though my measurements are off 🙂 second fave is def this one http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/113-17-jacket-with-raglan-sleeve-and-pattern-on-yoke-in-silke-alpaca
ah the typos! 🙂
My favorite is the Acer Cardigan, which I’m working on right now–not too boring, not too complicated.
And congrats for getting five months off for good (dental) behavior, Leslie!
I knit my first sweater and I loved it
It was the lodi cardigan but I cannot figure out how to link it here.
My current favorite is Valpuri by the Berroco design team. It’s a great cabled knit t-shirt. Once completed it will be my first sweater—yay!
Right now, http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/effortless-cardigan. I am planning on knitting it soon. It’ll be my first sweater for me!
havent knit a sweater yet but plan to this year! i want to make the calligraphy cardi. really want that one in my closet!!
Leslie, I have a project like your socks…they seem to NEVER get done! Love the pattern, though. And love the spinning that you both have done.
Hmmm…about sweaters, I’ve never made one. In fact, I had never worn a sweater as an adult until I turned 60! So I guess it’s time, don’t you think? Have no idea which one but I do like the Pole…would it be too hard for a sweater-newbie? It’s really my style since I’m wearing a commercially knitted sweater that’s similar in construction.
My alltime favourite sweater is the norwegian colorwork marius-sweater. Ive made this a dozen times, for children mostley.
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/11-mariusgenser-med-rund-sal
I’ve just started spinning and was trolling for tutorials–found yours and now I’m hooked on the show!!!!
I’m about to cast on for the Urban Aran, but a zippy sleeveless version…..I’m a big gal and am always plagued by crazy pilling where my corn-fed arms constantly rub against my corn-fed bosom….That said, I really do like the Honeybee Cardigan by Laura Chau….It’s super flattering and a great excuse to buy too much sock yarn.
I have only knit baby sweaters but I am wanting to start one for me.
My new favorite is the Dark and Stormy cardi from Thea Colman. It’s my next cast on.
Oops – forgot the Rav link: Dark and Stormy Cardigan
I am just starting my very first sweater/ garment project as part of the stockinette zombies KAL. I am excited because being petite and short, 5″ nothing, my selection in stores is very limited. My husband has the opposite problem being 6’2″ lol so maybe I’ll knit him a sweater that fits down the road. Fingers crossed.
Fun & Funky: Hardcore Pullover by Bernat Design Studio
Girly: Dahlia Cardigan by Heather Zoppetti
Comfy& Snuggly: Shellseeker by Heidi Kirrmaier
My favorite pullover I’ve knit has to ‘Olive’ http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/olive-3
My favorite cardigan I’ve knit is ‘The Traveling Sweater’ http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/the-traveling-sweater
Thanks for the opportunity to win!
I have crocheted a cardigan, that turned out beautifully until I blocked it and it stretched and stretched. Lesson learn on how differently yarns respond after meeting water. My goal for this year is to make the Shalom and the Tappen Zee Cardigan. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/tappan-zee-cardigan I also have been looking at the Moody Cardigan http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/moody so many to try but not sure which one to actually get started on.
I am currently knitting my first sweater. It’s the “Ano” sweater by Borocco. I really like it so far. It’s a cardigan from the bottom up. I want to try a top-down sweater next.
Leslie, congrats on the braces.
Laura, my husband sends his Steelers condolences. 😉
Wonderful podcast!
My favorite sweater is ‘caramel’ by Isabell Kraemer.
Great episode! I have started one sweater ages ago, but never finished it. Don’t like the yarn anymore as it is mostly cotton. Will have to start one soon, but need to buy a sweater quantity of yarn first.
Great question… I think this one http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/dahlia-cardigan is fabulous. Unusual and cozy looking front with awesome lace back! The lace back might not be so practical in cold climates but for New Mexico it’s perfect 🙂
Hey ladies, great episode! Leslie, I can’t wait to see what your Pole sweater looks like when it’s finished… that is some really interesting construction! Laura, glad to see you’re enjoying your new lazy kate! (it’s OH-gle, btw… LOL)
I have 2 favorite sweater patterns right now… the Acer Cardigan by Amy Christoffers (just cast on for it last night, actually!): http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/acer-cardigan and the Shellseeker Sweater by Heidi Kirrmeier (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/shellseeker). I’m knitting Acer right now, and plan to knit Shellseeker to take on my honeymoon. 🙂
Have a great week, ladies! 🙂
Right this moment I am in love with the Whole Wheat cardigan. I will make it some day.
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/whole-wheat-cardigan
Chic Knits Ce Ce is one I really like! Looking forward to the Mitten for Me KAL! and thoroughly enjoying having “company” while knitting…. I really need some new friends 🙂
I’m more of a shawl gal than sweaters, because I have yet to find a sweater pattern that fits me. (Ladies 6X or so) My favorite shawl is definitely Citron, I’m working on my second one now. The first was all scrap sock yarn, the new one will go to work. I extended it to a full 10 repeats, might go up to 11 or 12 repeats on the new one.

I can’t link to Rav for my favorite sweater I’ve knit, since I tend to knit my own designs a lot. I tend to knit pullovers rather than cardigans, and this year I hope to change that. My favorite type of sweater is generally bottom up, crew neck, and heavily cabled. I love Aran knits, so tend to do those a lot. I’ve also dabbled in Fair Isle, but not much other than one enormous Fair Isle sweater for my 6’4 baby brother. I am petite, so the Dolce book looks interesting. I haven’t seen it anywhere, either, which seems a shame. Debbie Bliss and Rowan are all over, but their sweaters are huge, usually, and most would look ridiculous on my 5’3, size 6 body without extensive alteration.
Hi Girllls! I really love your show. I don’t have any knitting stores around here and I’ve been learning on my own using YouTube and other websites. Thanks to your show I found Ravelry and many online stores where I can get my knitting supplies from. I’ve learned so much and enjoy the simple pleasure of just sitting down and knitting along with you two! Thank you 🙂
I’ve been too afraid to tackle a big project like a sweater but you guys really inspire me to take the challenge. Maybe a kid’s size sweater to start with? Hmm…
Later, when I gain more experience I’d love to try something like this hoodie http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/austin-hoodie
Thanks again and keep up the great work!
I love cables and this cardigan is one of my favorites:

I may have to sign up for the mystery mitten KAL. Sounds like fun!
I haven’t been brave enough to start it yet, but I have had my eye on the Owls sweater for a long time.
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/owls-2
My favorite sweater has to end in a tie between the Shawl Collar Pullover and the Cherie Amour. I like the lace of the Cherie Amour, and the Shawl Collar of the other just makes me happy.

It seems as if my favorite sweater designer is Connie Chang Chinchio, since I’m now knitting my 4th sweater of hers. The Farmer’s Market Cardigan is the one I’ve worn the most; it’s a great pattern. Nice to catch up with you girllls every week!
I like Rogue, http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/rogue
Casual and easy to wear.
My favorite sweater (tunic) pattern is Still Light by Veera Välimäki.
I linked above my favor sweater its more of a cardigan but I do love the look of it. Its seems extremely cozy. Love your show and Good luck to all!!!
as a native pittsburgher, I express my heartfelt condolences for the steeler loss. although late because of it, enjoyed your podcast as usual.
Thanks for sharing re.pinterest!! also wanted to say (sorry I know it’s a bit ‘random’!…) I love it when laura says ‘winer…winner…chicken dinner!…’ I just LOVE your accents!!
I’ve heard about your podcast from others but have just gotten to it (for some reason the files wouldn’t transfer to my ipod???) really liking it so far, so relaxed and enjoyable to watch/listen to 🙂 as for the favorite sweater pattern the only one I’ve ever made is the Tulip Sweater (http://www.yarn.com/webs-knitting-pdf-patterns-dream-in-color/webs-knitting-patterns-dream-in-color-604-tulip-baby-cardigan/) from Dream in Color but am itching to make myself the Central Park Hoodie (http://www.interweavestore.com/Knitting/Patterns/Central-Park-Hoodie.html) since I saw it as the KAL on Knitting Daily several years ago when I wasn’t even a knitter (I only crocheted back then).
Hi Girllls, Great to see you again 🙂
My favourite sweater? I think it would have to be Sylvi http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/sylvi
I haven’t done it yet. Looking for the right yarn.
My current favorite cardigan is http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/double-v-cardigan, although I’m definitely a cardigan addict and am in love with so many patterns.
When I lived in WI, Kim Ogle of Ogle Designs taught at my LYS and I took a couple classes with her. The first baby sweater I knit was one of her patterns. It’s so cool to hear she’s doing lazy kates now!
My favorite sweater was from a Reynolds yarn leaflet that I got for an alpaca blend yarn they no longer make. I made the cardigan and then years later found out it was Norah Gaughn’s design in an article she did. It’s got cabled x’s on it and it’s been at least 20 years since I made it but it’s so appropriate still. I got perfect buttons for it that look like gray marble, so it’s pulled together. Buttons make such a difference.
My favorite sweater ever is Ariann – I made it in a Oregano colorway, Love it, need to shorten length of sleeves though. It was my first sweater – I ever knit for myself and I was measuring sleeve from top of my shoulder and not from underarm – ha who knew!
Love the book. You two are the best. I am always in anticipation of your next show! Thanks a million!
Vanessa – Upstate NY
Pick me, pick me! 😉
My favorite sweater pattern (at the moment, at least) is the Fireside Cardigan by Amber Allison. I’ve worn mine about 30,000 times and it is one of the few patterns that I’ve strongly considered knitting more than once. Normally, I knit a pattern and get so sick of it that I never want to look at it again. 🙂
I don’t think I could narrow it down to one favorite 🙂 but this is on the top of my queue right now http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/greenfield-cardigan
Joji (the super sweet woman who designed pole) also designed a fantastically easy/fast baby set called the Felipe vest and hat for just your situation, Laura!! I’ve knit it multiple times with thick & thin yarn, and it comes out cute as can be… My rav id is sydneypaige 🙂
I love the Rocky Coast Cardigan in the book Coastal Knits. I have that as a must knit this year.
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/gramps-cardigan-2
The Gramps cardigan by Kate Oates is my favorite sweater…reminds me of my Grandpa. Cant wait to make it…it will be like a hug from him.
at the moment….tempest!
btw, I would SO fit in those patterns, maybe knit one for me if I don’t win it? Lol
😉
That KAL starts on my birthday!
At the moment, my favorite sweater pattern is in Textured Stitches, and it is the Albero Cowl Jacket, http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/albero-cowl-jacket. It will be the first sweater I make for myself.
(The rafflecopter wouldn’t let me write anything in the box, so I’m putting it here 🙂 ).

This was hard! I guess the New York Cardigan by Erin Harper. I love it’s simplicity without being boring and the length. I wear cardigans all of the time!
